I was looking at Va library card catalog online. Can't get into files ,but found out you can find people and dates. An example, one list has : Jolly, Alexander.. master of ship: Potomack Merchant 1744. All are not the same, some merely puts a name , place and date together. if interested , email me and I will reply back with the attachments. Be sure to state it's Jolly. There were lots of names.
