My great grandmother Harriet JOLLY born on 1 Sep 1850 (place unknown) and died on 5 Dec 1917 in Darlington, Lafayette County, Wisconsin, USA. She was married to Thomas Walter MURRAY (date and place unknown). Thomas was born on 23 Mar 1844 in Kentucky (??unproven) and died on 2 Feb 1923 in Darlington, Lafayette County, Wisconsin. They had the following children: William Lee MURRAY (b: 20 Feb 1870 Lafayette County, WI and died in Darlington, Lafayette County, WI (unknown date). John C. MURRAY (1st) (b: 5 Feb 1872 and died on 24 Jun 1891 both in Darlington, WI) Helen M. MURRAY (b: 11 Dec 1873; d: 19 Dec 1874 both in Darlington, WI) Florence Alma MURRAY (b: 6 Apr 1875) Bessie Kennedy MURRAY (1st) (b: 5 Oct 1876; d: 8 Mar 1877 both birth and death were in Lafayette County, WI) Alexander MURRAY (b:26 Dec 1877 in Lafayette County, WI) Laura Ann MURRAY (b: 7 Mar 1879; d: 11 Feb 1928 both in Lafayette County, WI) Bessie Kennedy MURRAY (b: 17 Nov 1880; d: 6 Aug 1946 both in Lafayette County, WI) Thomas W. Charles Daniel MURRAY (b: 21 Dec 1895 in Lamont, Lafayette County, WI; d: 14 Sep 1958 in Freeport, Stephenson County, IL; m: Mary Lillian Schwartz) WOW...17 children of this pair!! I am a descendant of the last child - Charles Daniel MURRAY. I have tried the Murray-L already and the descendants of these individuals are apparently not on Murray-L. I am looking for the JOLLY line now. Does anyone have info on the JOLLY family of Southern or Southwestern Wisconsin during the mid and late 1800s?? I thought that by listing the children that someone may be able to recognize Harriet JOLLY. Could anyone tell me what the original nationality the JOLLY family in Wisconsin may be? I'm without a clue as to whether it is a Scottish, English, or maybe some other area? Thanks for your help in advance!! John Murray
