I am still seeking info on my g--g-grandmother, Phoebe JOLLY MARTIN BARNES LEWIS! She was quite a lady and would love to know from whence she came. She married MARTIN and had Priscilla; married Richard Weaver BARNES and had Susan, Amelia (my ancestor) and Weaver; married Ezekiel LEWIS, no issue. In the 1820s she rode a horse from MD to OH with Weaver on in front of her to see her daughters who had already moved to Perry Co. OH. Amelia married Jacob PETTY there and raised her family there with my ancestor Josiah remaining on the farm. Phoebe was b. ca. 1775, younger than Barnes by about 15-20 yrs, and died in Ohio several years after her migration. Marjory A. Austen MAPPAusten@aol.com
