    3. Hi.. Thanks for taking the time to read this! I am an adoptee that recently discovered that my original (Biological) last name is Jolly. Apparently, my mother was living in the San Diego California area, and was rather young at the time; she had gotten pregnant, possibly with a member of the USMC or USN. She felt she could not provide me with a stable home, and decided to place me for adoption via Children's Home Society of California. I was adopted at about eight months old, by a couple that could not have children of their own, John and Gail Bishop. They were excellent parents, and brought me up well. However, in light of finding out this information, I am now very curious about my past and lineage, as well as having a medical "driver" for finding out some background information about my birth parents and family. Information that I know at this point (have more coming, non-identifying information from CHS): Born 8/7/67 at approximately 6:30 am, possibly at San Diego Naval Hospital. Mother's last name at my birth was Jolly, Jolly was only name placed on original birth certificate. From preliminary information, it appears that my maternal grandmother (her mother) was possibly an RN or nurse of some kind. Father appears to have been military, do not think that she was married to him at the time (nor do I know if in fact they ever did marry, or if they were just "ships in the night"- is was the late sixties, you know!) Placed with Children's Home Society of California, she was involved in adoption proceedings, at least cursorily. Though she has not contacted CHS for a waiver (I did) of confidential contact information, I do not know whether or not she has ever actively persued finding out where/how I am- therefore, I must state that I do not mean to intrude into her (or possible siblings/half-siblings/etc) life, merely interested in my background, as well as some medical information- due to a fairly major (and potentially inherited) medical condition. If any of this sounds familiar to any of you, I would greatly appreciate an email back! I can be emailed via this list, or directly emailed at pbishop@mediaone.net and/or paul.bishop@fmr.com Thanks for your time!! -Paul Bishop (aka Baby Boy Jolly, 8/7/67)
