    1. Re: Phoebe Jolly, wife of MARTIN, BARNES, LEWIS
    2. I have circulated this query in MARTIN circles as well as BARNES and LEWIS. No one seems to recognize her maiden name of JOLLY. She was b. ca. 1770 perhaps in MD. I do not know where her LEWIS marriage took place. She had at least one daughter, Priscilla. She then married my ancestor, BARNES, and had three children, Susan, Amelia, and Weaver. Her widowhood and resulting third marriage produced no children known. Does anyone have a PHOEBE JOLLY in their database that they could share? Thank you. Marjory A. Austen

    2. Carol and Michael Battishill
    3. Hello to Ian Jolly and other subscribers to this List: I'm a new subscriber and would like to register my interests (limited as they are): My paternal gt.grandfather was James Robert WILSON born 1842/1844 in Muthill, Perthshire, Scotland. His parents were Robert WILSON (occupation tailor) and Jane JOLLY. James Robert WILSON arrived in Australia (when?) and on 18 March 1878 married Annie Louisa LAMONT at the Bible Christian Church in Camperdown (Geelong) Victoria. I have no idea when he arrived or whether his parents and other siblings accompanied him. Is anyone missing a James Robert Wilson in their family? 1. Phyllis' Kea, Cornelly & Gwennap JOLLYs
    2. Victoria Dunlop
    3. Hi Phyllis, There's a very good range of Poor Law records available for Kea. They've been filmed by the LDS and they cover the period when your JOLLYs were resident in the parish. I think the last item (Settlement papers, 1727-1821 Film 1596593 Item 3) might be especially interesting. If you haven't got easy access to an LDS FH library, you could have your researcher look at them - or have the staff at the Cornwall Record Office <cro@ceo.cornwall.gov.uk> do a search. The CRO reference number (for the Settlement papers) is P97/13/2. 2. Ian Jolly
    3. Kay Thanks very much for sending the info from the SA Indexes of BDMs. I guess you've got some search software? I recognise the Births to William Disher and Agnes Horsburgh. Unfortunately some of the twelve children weren't registered or the paperwork didn't make it through. One was my great grandmother, Margaret Johnston Disher. On the WILSON side, my gg-grandparents were Andrew Wilson and Agnes Montgomery. They came to SA 1851 on the Omega. My G-Grandfather was Hugh Montgomery Wilson. Any similar info on Wilson would be great if you could organise it. Thanks Ian

I agree that > Joseph sounds much more like ours ! No, unfortunately, I don't have a print-out. Just my transcription. I tried to record all JOLLY references, but there's a distinct possibility that the odd one scrolled past while I was thinking about dinner! I'm planning to order the St. Enoder and East Newlyn films and work through them again, double-checking everything. I'll post any interesting finds to the list. It was great that you sent the burials you had. I think I should do the same! He does NOT seem to match up with the 2 Elijah Jolley's that have ALREADY been researched in Washington Co, PA, according to Mary Henke. 3. Hi, everyone! I am enjoying all the activity on this site at present! I notice that many of you have extensive family trees and wonder if you can match up my Robert JOLLY, born about 1759. He was a builder, died in Plumstead, KENT 1846, but the 1841 census showed that he was not born in Kent. Does anyone have a likely candidate - he must have been born somewhere in Britain! Cheers!
