Hi I would love to have it. Thanks Cyndy Jolly Zuck
Could you post the URL for the Va Library Catalog online, please? Jayne
I was looking at Va library card catalog online. Can't get into files ,but found out you can find people and dates. An example, one list has : Jolly, Alexander.. master of ship: Potomack Merchant 1744. All are not the same, some merely puts a name , place and date together. if interested , email me and I will reply back with the attachments. Be sure to state it's Jolly. There were lots of names. Donna oneamos@bellsouth.net
My maternal ggrandmother was a Jolly and I know nothing about them. Where did they come from, what did they do, Were they horse trainers?, I have yet to tie down a positive on name and date of her, but my mom says she thinks her name was Kate or Catherine. She married a Charlie Mattingly, no proof, and Had 5 kids , Walter, Essie, Ida ,Madge and Eunice,. Eunice was born abt. 1902. They were in western Ky at that time . Poor pickin's I know . Peter, Very interesting site. Clicking on the top slot (sort of yellow-green with *Australian War Graves * on it) takes you to the right screen. On the left column, again with a yellow-green background, are underlined links. Database is here. Jayne
http://www.hagsoc.org.au I've since been there but can't find the database... Peter Skeehan. Melbourne Australia
Hi, I heard about this site on Australia All Over this morning. It includes a new database detailing the graves of Australians killed in the Boer War, with maps and photos. Peter Skeehan. Melbourne Australia
Congratulations Gerrie, It is a great feeling to have a breakthrough, no matter how great or small! Had a quick look on my 1851 census just in case but no Ann TUNSTALL listed at all. Kay PS - Probably quiet because Pat's still in UK!!! [Think I am in trouble if she has snuck back in aren't I!!!! <g>] At 11:23 AM 02-08-00 -0700, you wrote: >Hi everyone, > >You are all very quiet these days! >Of some interest, while browsing the net found >John JOLLY passenger on the "Providence" a Yorkshireman >who sailed from Newcastle to Nova Scotia Canada arriving >1 June 1774. >I am very excited to have found my gg grandfather William JOLLY, >tailor, married to Catherine with children's Baptisms as follows: >Eliza Jane Baptised 5 Feb 1826 >Catherine Sarah " 24 Jun 1827 >William Thomas " 15 Feb 1829 >Susanna " 15 Aug1830 >Robert " 6 Oct 1833 >Henry Frederick " 24 May 1835 >These were at South Weald Essex. Since we have increased membership on this forum, I thought it was time to circulate my JOLLY ancestor's name and see if anyone could help me w/ her. Phoebe married a MARTIN, about whom I know nothing except that she had Priscilla by him. He must have died because in the late 1700s she married Richard WEAVER BARNES, who died in 1812 and they had Susanna, Amelia (mine) and Weaver. She later married Ezekiel LEWIS another Rev. War officer as was BARNES. Phoebe followed her daughters to OH from MD in the 1820s following the death of her third husband. She brought young Weaver by horseback by herself to see them but returned to care for Ezekiel. Anyone ever hear of my Phoebe? Marjory A. Austen MAPPAusten@aol.com
Hi everyone, You are all very quiet these days! Of some interest, while browsing the net found John JOLLY passenger on the "Providence" a Yorkshireman who sailed from Newcastle to Nova Scotia Canada arriving 1 June 1774. I am very excited to have found my gg grandfather William JOLLY, tailor, married to Catherine with children's Baptisms as follows: Eliza Jane Baptised 5 Feb 1826 Catherine Sarah " 24 Jun 1827 William Thomas " 15 Feb 1829 Susanna " 15 Aug1830 Robert " 6 Oct 1833 Henry Frederick " 24 May 1835 These were at South Weald Essex. Just wanted to share my good fortune. Robert was my g grandfather who parented Henry my grandfather. If I could just find Ann TUNSTALL of Pimlico (Roberts wife) now my first mission would be complete. She was born 1836/37 & I think just missed the civil registers. Such is life! Good luck everyone, Gerrie
