    2. Yes, I would agree that one should verify information on a death certificate. I live in California and my Father died in Indiana. My nephew gave the information for the certificate and I was horrified to see (when I sent for a copy) that every item on it - first, middle, and surname, place of birth, date of birth, county of residence (he'd lived in that county for 95 years) and also the spellings of the names of two of my sisters. I assume the date of death might have been correct. Also my husband's information on his death certificate was nearly all wrong and I had given it to the official myself. It was the official who had written it incorrectly. From those two incidences I would say to beware of any information that is written - that it probably is incorrect. In those two cases I certainly knew the correct spellings, dates, and locations. In most others, one would not. Good luck. J eanne
