Desley, I don't know much about tracing Johnstons in Scotland. There are many of them, I'm sure. As I remember, there were seven families who had homes, manors or estates: The Johnstons of Annandale, Elsieshields, Wamphray, and in the North, Caskieben, Kilmore, Poldean, and Galabank and Galashields. This is off the top of my head, so to speak.
