Probably we think the ones most often incorrect are the ones we, personally, have had problems with. Whatever we get in records are at least records and can usually be deciphered. They are it, in other words, whatever are on them. I know I have three birthdates for my paternal great grandfather. I'd love to know which one is correct, but I do not think I ever will. He was born before the days of birth certificates. So I would gladly take one if I could whatever it says. But it might even give a 4th birth date if there could have been a birth certificate! Oh, well. Jeanne
