I too have a wall. My ggrandfather is Perry Liondas Johnston born in Georgia Jan. 22-1852 or 1848 depending on which census is correct. He died in Eulogy, Texas on 3-26-1938. His mother lived with him in Texas and her name is Martha Hallam and she was born in Georgia too. He was married to Mollie Elizabeth Abbott LaFon and had one son, Wilke born on Jan. 12, 1890 who changed his name to Walter Leon. He went by WL and his dad went by PL on a lot of forms found so far. I would like to go backwards on PL and Martha, and his wife, Mollie, but so far no luck. Do these people match anyone elses family? Nancy........................I have a Leonidas JOHNSTON b. 1848 Putnam Co., IND. Mother was Sarah M. WOODFILL, b 1829 KY; Father: Charles D. JOHNSTON, b. 1820 KY. In 1850 family was living in Jackson T., Putnam Co., IND. Charles' occup. - Miller. Leonidas fought in the Civil War for the Union. I was struck by the similar name. Prob not your relative, but felt I would pass on the info in case you weren't absolutely sure where your Johnston was born.
