My g-grandfather was born in Missouri and buried in the Snodgrass Union Cemetery 15 miles East of Butler. His Name was George S. Johnston b 1828 d. 1893 married Amanda Shirley b. 1828 d. 1908. They're buried next to a William Johnston b. 1799 (in Kentucky) and Elizabeth Johnston who I suspect are his parents. One reason I think so is that they lived side by side while counted on the 1850 census taken for Cooper County Missouri (where Boonville was located). George and Amanda had children named William, Samirah, Laura, Sally Ann, Maude J., Robert G., Richard R. (my grandfather) and Walter P. (who died as an infant). All except William and Walter were listed as children again in the 1880 census for Bates County Missouri. Richard R. and his family homesteaded in Montana around 1910-1911. Joe L.
