I too have a Johnson/Johnston brick wall. I am from a line that with Zopher Johnson marries Elizabeth Romine in Loudon County, VA in 1810. Now from the folks I have spoken to, Z's father was a Joseph Johnston and his father was a Zopher Johnston. That's where my brick wall comes into play. I have no clue who Josephs wife is, or who Zopher the elder is or came from. I have a 3rd cousin twice removed who is connected to Scotland Via Australia.The line I have been given is Zopher Johnston "The Elder" Born: Between: 1700-1715 Probably Scotland or Ireland Married: #1: Unknown before 1750 Probably PA #2: Prob. You need to know if he is from the Johnstons of the North or the Lowland Scots first. There were about seven great families of them. Some Roberts in both, as I remember. Then also there are some Scots-Irish Johnstons in Armagh and other counties.
