http://www.ancestry.com/trees/charts/census.aspx free downloadable census forms. "Married within the year" is the phrase. 1850 is one of the years that does not define household relationships. We assume a husband/wife relationship, but it's no guarantee. I looked at this census image & the only mark is by HIS name. I didn't investigate how this enumerator did other households (pertaining to married within the year) - wondering if he marked both man & woman or not. So, this could be his sister, or sister in law. I did quickly browse the Mason County Marriges thru the USGenweb site & no marriage for William & Margaret, tho I did find his 1st marriage. Darn & drat! Not much help, am I? Maybe only widening the search area for a possible marriage. joy in MO Roger Johnston wrote: >In the Federal 1850 census for Mason Co, Ky, District 3, dwelling No 271 is >listed a William B.
