Beverly and J, Deronda and I are working together on this one, so I don't suppose she would mind if I gave the details you asked for. This Benjamin W. Johnston's sons names are William, Joseph, and Aaron. That's all the Johnston SC names we know. This Benjamin was born about 1760, as near as we can figure. He served in the SC line during the Revolution and was in 1785 granted 140 acres of land by the State taken away from the Cherokees in north Greenville District. This land was near the Middle Fork of the Saluda River and Woolf Creek. Beverly, all our Johnstons that we know about left Greenville County by about 1818, although the son Aaron was sent back with Benjamin's power of attorney to sell one parcel of land in about 1827. The three sons were using the "Johnson" surname by 1818 when they moved to Clay County KY and never went back to "Johnston." Bruce Nichols
