    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/hYl.2ACIB/4161.1.1.1.1.1.1.1.1.1.2.1 Message Board Post: As you say, the DNA study may not prove a connection for many of us, but it may very well eliminate some of the possiblities. I guess that is also a good thing. Like with most puzzles and theories, knowing what does NOT work, helps narrow down the places to look for what DOES work. I still sometimes wish my ancestors all had names like Melchior Van Duzelhump, or some other such rare names that would make it a bit easier to find them. As it is I imagine that I am facing the search for people that, for the most par,t were law abiding and not too awfully wealthy, famous , or infamous. They got their names recorded or reported much less often in the public records than others who were at odds with the law, etc.
