Dear Sherri, This is a very intriguing story. I'm sorry. I am a Johnston descendant, but I do not believe that I have any connection. You do not say just where all of this took place, or if you have any blood connection. You might want to consult an attorney about state laws. However, it would be my suggestion that you contact a historical or genealogical library in the area. Possibly they would take the donation to their library, for the material to be held in trust.
