Hello, I am looking g for Johnstons/Johnsons who came from Harrison or Taylor Co. West Virginia in the 1800s. Many of them migrated to Belmont, CO, Ohio some time around 1880. So far I have been able to trace a Peter Johnston who was a sheriff in Harrison Co in 1820. One of his sons was a Robert born around 1795. Robert married a Mahala Carder and then Lucy Ann Tate. One of Roberts and Lucy's children was John born around 1820 married Susan Day. their children were George Samuel, Sara Jane, Mahala, Abraham and James. I have also heard rumors that one of the spouses in the family named McDade, may have the Johnston family Bible. if this rings a bell with anyone, please contact me.
