    1. [JOHNSTON] Arthur Johnston - come out come out where ever you are...NOW!
    2. It's been quite awhile since I posted an "all points bulletin" for my great-grandfather, so here's my latest attempt. I am seeking information on Arthur Johnston. Arthur magically appeared out of nowhere (maybe from a witness protection program?), and married Ida Self in Arkansas around 1903. In 1904, my grandfather, Oliver E. "Pete" Johnston was born in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Around 1906, still in Arkansas, Ida and Arthur were divorced. Or Arthur died, depending on which family tale you place credence in. Arthur then returned from whence he came, to the dark impenetrable mists of time, leaving no tangible (or traceable) evidence of his existence except a son and an old photograph, along with several unsubstantiated family stories. Arthur personifies the old genealogy question: How can ONE ancestor cause SO much trouble? Is there anyone here on the list to whom any of this sounds even vaguely familiar? Any and all leads and/or suggestions are appreciated. PLEASE........don't let Arthur get away with his disappearing act! Help me haul him before the my Family Treemaker software and make him take his rightful place in the family tree. And while you're at, grab his parent, too! Mike Johnston Oswego, IL
