But your William Thomas Johnston caught my eye. My Johnston family moved to Iowa fom Penn. My great-great grandfather Johnston, first name unknown, from Scotland married Sarah Johnston abt. 1825 in Scotland. They had Sarah, b. 1827 and Charels b. abt 1829 in Scotland. They had Ellen b. 1838 in NY, Margartet b. 1840, PA. John H.. b. abt 1842, OH, James McClure b. Dec. 1844, Wellsburg, Brooke, VA (W.VA.)They moved to Jones Co. IA in 1846. I am looking for records to learn my great-great grandfather's fisrt name. I hope to trace him back to Scotland.
