Something close to that. I know he was married to Elizabeth Stafford. I was told that they came to Fermanaugh, northern Ireland, from Scotland, where most of the Johnstons lived. There was a poem written by Sir Walter Scott, about the Gentle Johnston ride (in Scotland) for a thousand years and a thousand more they will abide. Something to that effect? Can't remember verbatim. My line runs from JAMES A. JOHNSTON, he married; MARGARET GIVENS. I have the Givens line again...my grandmother that married Philip Strother Hardiman was a Givens..Lillian Dell Etta Givens.
