Considering that the name JOHNSTON was the 7th most common name in the USA - I want to say the year was 1957, it's amazing that anyone can locate relatives! (Honest, I read this somewhere after starting my gene quest) For some reason I thought the Irish had good records kept, but on checking the sources on GENUKI, I find most records were lost in a fire about 1922. Pity that heritage. But, my personal group leads me back to a miniscule area of Scotland on the western coast, SEIL & LUING & adjacent areas in Argyll Parish.
