His parents were Thomas Craig Johnston born Midlothian about 1835 and Elizabeth Wilson Maitland born 1836. married 1859 His grandparents were Archibald Maitland and Jean Wilson married Denny Stirlingshire 10/7/1830. and David Johnston and Agnes Langwell[ I can't find anything on them at all] William had the following brothers and sisters , Agnes Langwell Johnston born 1860/Thomas Maitland 1863/ Isabella 1865/ Elizabeth 1871. His mother died Feb 1872 and his father remarried Catherine Turnbull in July 1872.other children followed Marion Turnbull Johnston 1873/John Turnbull 1875/Jessie 1878 and David 1881 . I'd be grateful for any information on them . Thanks Josie
