WOW...can anyone tell me how to get a copy of the Will for George Johnston who's wife is Margaret? Do I need to write? Is the actual copy of the Will listed in a book I can get? Does anyone on the list have this Will, that wants to share? I know I can go there and get it myself...which I just might do...<smile> I'm so excited. I really had not too much to go on until I read this email. I knew his name, wife, etc... My husband comes off his son David who's listed as dead. David died only 3 days before his father wrote his Will (19 Sept. 1796). It looks like that was his wake up call to get his things in order. IF anyone fits in this family, I'd love to trade information. Most of what I have is from searching for our Griffin's. I'd love to know more about this Johnston family. Also David Johnston married Elizabeth Kyle, one of their children is Nancy Johnston who received $300.00 from PRES George Washington's estate when he died. It's said that the relationship was off the Kyle family to the Pres...BUT no one has ever found the connection. I guess my question is, has any one on the Johnston's side of the family, ever heard such a story. I do know that these Johnston's were linked to Lord Fairfax along with my Griffin's. Lord Fairfax was under Pres. Washington during those years.
