Richard, who settled from North Carolina in Walton County, Ga., was a grandson of William and Ann Chew Johnston of Caroline Co., Virginia.) Record is apparently from two Bibles put together as one. The title page of the newer Bible reads: The New Testament of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ Translated Out of the Original Greek and With the former translations diligently compared and revised Stereotyped for Collins & Co. by B. and J. Collins, Boston Published by Langdon Coffin, 31 Washington Street, 1831 Births Richard Johnston, son of Larkin and Mary Johnston was born March 14, 1778 on Saturday, 8 o'clock in the morning, and in the 51st year of his mother's age. Elizabeth Hemphill, wife of Richard Johnston, and daughter of Hugh and Catherine Hemphill was born August 2nd, 1785 John Clark, son of Richard and Elizabeth Johnston was born April 30, 1803, on Saturday, 3 o'clock in the eavening (sic). Mary Rogers was born October 2nd, 1805, on Wednesday, 6 o'clock in the morning. William H. was born March 12, 1808, on Saturday, 5 o'clock in the eavening. David Lewis was born September 9th, 1810, on Sunday at 3 o'clock in the eavening. Catherine Hughes was born April 13, 1812 on Monday 8 o'clock after--- (torn). James was born December 26 --- 9 o'clock --- (torn). (Note: This is James Warren Johnston, born Dec. 26, 1814.) Richard was born on --th of December --- on Saturday 7 o'clock. James W., son of Richard and Elizabeth Johnston, departed this life January 18, 1874, in the 60th year of his age. Martha A. Johnston, wife of J.W. Johnston, departed this life J--- 10th, 1886. (torn) ----- departed this life ----- of August 186-- of typhoid. (Note: Probably Martha Johnston, daughter of James W. and Martha Johnston.) Note: Richard Johnston, 1778-1837, and wife are buried at Good Hope, Walton County, Ga., at the old Johnston farm. Richard's son William Hemphill Johnston, 1808-80, is buried at Macedonia Baptist Church Cem., Hwy. 61, south of Villa Rica, Carroll Co., Ga. Richard's son James Warren Johnston, 1814-74, moved to what became Douglasville, Douglas County, Ga. His son William Harrison Johnston, 1843-1922, is buried in the Douglasville City Cemetery with his wife Annie Laura Ergle.
