My great-grandfather would be Hugh Brinkley Johnston, born May 03, 1827 in Mississippi, and died in Corrigan, Tx. He married ALTHA BURNS d. before 1870. Then he is found in 1870 Census of Liberty County with wife Mary and children Mary Ann, William, Sarah. It is said that the father of Hugh is JOHN MALCOLM JOHNSTON II, His siblings were: i. JOHN MALCOLM JOHNSTON III, b. January 1808. ii. ELLEN JOHNSTON. iii. WILLIAM JOHNSTON, m. CYNTHIA BURNS; b. 1815, Cynthia was a sister to Altha the mother of Mary Ann Johnston. iv. JAMES AUGUSTUS JOHNSTON, b. May 08, 1822; d. September 11, 1910, Found in Census of 1880 in Texas. He was v. HUGH BRINKLEY JOHNSTON, b. May 03, 1827, born in Mississippi; d. Corrigan, Tx.
