I am descended from a William Johnston who came Washington Co. PA as early as 1778. Crumrine's History of Washington County lists his sons John and Robert, noting that John married a "Miss Noble" but had no children, and son Robert married Grizella Pollock and they had 12 children. Land records suggest that William Johnston left Washington Co. PA shortly after 1800 and moved to Nelson County KY where he wrote a will on September 6, 1813 and is believed to have died by 1814.
