He married Lillias Helen Wright, daughter of John and Helen (Wilson) Wright. He was the son of James Johnstone, born 1805 in Lochmaben, Dumfriesshire, Scotland. James married Mary Rodgerson 1835 in Annan, Scotland. They had 7 children: James, Jannet, John, Elizabeth, George, William, David, and Thomas. The family came to the Barclay area of Sangamon County, Il. in 1853, later moving to Illiopois about 1866. I would appreciate any information on any of these families and am willing to share what I know.
