    1. [JOHNSTON] Johns(t)ons in PA
    2. Scott McNabb
    3. It has been a few weeks since I posted this, so I will try again. I am looking for any and all Henry Johns(t)ons in PA in the 1800's. I have a Henry Clay Johnson that I believe is the same Henry Johnston that is the son of Henry (b. 1800, d. ?)and Hester (b. 1803, d. ?) Johnston in the Schulykill County 1850 census (Henry Clay's CW enlistment papers indicate that he is from Schulykill County). I have information that the 1850 census indicates that both Henrys (father and son) were born in PA, as well as Hester, but I can not find any additional references in any other PA censuses. Henry Clay apparently had a twin? brother (James, yes another James Johns(t)on) born in 1845. A sister Catherine born PA in 1836 and a sister Sarah born in PA in 1840. Henry Clay Johns(t)on enlisted in the Ind. Cav. in Indianapolis, IN in 1862. Henry Clay Johns(t)on died and was buried in Allentown, PA. I know that he mustered out of the Cav. in Austin, TX in 1866 and somehow made his way back to PA to marry Amanda Elizabeth Woodring (b. April 23, 1843, d. August 6, 1882) in 1868. Anyone with PA or IN connections please let me know if you see any possible connections to my Johns(t)ons. Also if any Woodrings see a connection, any information is appreciated. Scott McNabb

    1. [JOHNSTON] Johnston of GA
    2. HI everyone, Am hoping that someone on the list might be able to help. After 30 years of genealogy I know a lot about some of the folks in my famiy but I still do not know much at all about my 2nd great grandfather - Richard Johnson. Here is what I do know: Richard JOHNSTON b. abt 1794 in Georgia. Can be found in the 1850 census of Wayne Co., Missouri and the 1860 census of Reynolds Co., Missouri. He is listed as physician. I do not know who he married but apparently had at least 2 children - this info. is based on census records so I hope they are his children???? Leo Dicia Logan Johnston b. 1838 in Arkansas d. 1887 in Jack Co., Texas married James Newton Carnahan in Madison Co., Mo. in 1856 and William Johnston b. abt 1842 listed in the 1850 census of Wayne Co., Mo as age 7 and the 1860 census of Reynolds Co., Mo. By 1860 he is married to a Sarah ???? and they have 1 son. As you can tell -- I do not know a lot about Richard Johnston. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated -- Thanks so much -- Emma
