Posted on: Johnston Queries Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/surnames/joh/Johnston/347 Surname: Johnston, Wilde, Jenks ------------------------- Pam, My great grandfather, Thomas H. Wilde, married Sarah A. Johnston. She was born Jan. 2, 1852, in Saybrook, Ashtabula Co., OH. What is interesting here is that my father's original middle name was Marcello but was later changed to Mack. (I have no idea why it was changed) The name Marcello also appears in another family line (Blanchard) but it could have come from the Johnston line as well. Sarah's parents were Sir John Johnston and Sarah A. Johnston (this is from her obituary). I think Sarah's mother's maiden name was Jenks. Tom

Does anyone have any information on an Agatha Johnston who married John Reid on January 3, 1813 in Williamson County, Tennessee? The wedding bond of John and Agatha was signed by Terry Bradley. John Reid (Reed) could possibly be my ggg grandfather. I'm hoping any info on Agatha could lead me to my illusive John -- there were as many as three John Reeds in Williamson County during this time period. Thanks for any help or suggestions. Joyce (Reed) Cleveland

Posted on: Johnston Queries Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/surnames/joh/Johnston/339 Surname: Johnson, Hampton ------------------------- Is there anyone out there researching James and Catharine Johnson in McLean Co ILL ? I have found land records for them on the BLM site that show James was buying land in McLean Co as early as 1834. Some of the land James and Catharine Johnson bought is right next to the land of my 4th greatgrandfather William P Hampton, so I am looking at James and Catharine as maybe being the parents of Susannah Johnson who married John H Hampton in McLean Co in 1840. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Jaime [email protected]
Posted on: Johnston Queries Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/surnames/joh/Johnston/338 Surname: Johnston, Hampton ------------------------- Has anyone run across any reference to a Dr Johnston in the early history of McLean county Illinois ? The only information I have on the father of my 3rd great grandmother Susannah Johnston is that her tombstone lists her as the daughter of Dr Johnston. Susannah Johnston married John H Hampton in McLean county in 1840, so I assume her parents were in the area sometime before 1840. I know that John Hampton was living in the Randolph Grove or Heyworth area of McLean County , so Susannah Johnston must have been in about the same area for them to meet and marry. If anyone has any information on a Dr Johnston in this area, I would really appreciate the help. Thanks Jaime [email protected]
