Allison, My g-g-grandfather was Samuel Johnson, born ca 1810 in SC, died in Gadsden Co, FL after 1858. His daughter, Melissa Ann Johnson, born 1852 (?) in Decatur Co, GA, married George Henry Chester in 1868 in Decatur Co, GA, died in Gadsden Co, FL in 1839. Does any of this match what is in the book? It talks of a William Johnson in Ireland, a Samuel Johnson, a Ruth Paxson, Eliza Pickering, Matthias Hutchinson, just to name a few.
