I am seeking the parents of Rebecca JOHNSON, b. ca 1760, who married ca 1780 in Chatham or Orange Co, NC to John DIXON, son of Simon and Elizabeth (ALLEN) DIXON. Simon DIXON was the son of Thomas and Hannah (HADLEY) DIXON. The DIXONs were Quakers who lived in New Castle Co, DE and Chester Co, PA before coming to the Chatham/Orange Co, NC area around 1755. John and Rebecca (JOHNSON) DIXON had five children: Elizabeth DIXON, b. ca 1781, m. 9 Feb 1799, Orange Co, NC to William MARSHILL Rebecca DIXON, b. ca 1785, m. 30 Mar 1807, Orange Co, NC to Daniel TOWELL Simon DIXON, b. ca 1787, m. ca 1815 to Mary __?__ Rachel DIXON, b. ca 1792, m. ca 1808 to Jacob HOBSON <<<<<< my line John DIXON, b. 13 May 1795, m. 6 Mar 1859, Orange Co, IN to Sarah STANFIELD Rebecca (JOHNSON) DIXON probably died sometime between 1795 and 1799 as John DIXON remarries in 1799 to Ruth (DIX) MASSEY and has five more children. John and Ruth, along with their children and most of John's children by Rebecca JOHNSON, moved to Orange Co, IN around 1815.
