Yes there are a lot of names in my family line Jane. This would mean that your GGGG Grandfather Joel would be the father to my Joel born ABT. 1815-18 and his brother Daniel born about 1812-14. Then also if all of this is true then they had more brothers and sisters. We never knew who Joel married. He parents had a daughter named Mary B. 1839, born in McMinn Co.. We have the first Joel with a wife named Elizabeth ?. The children I have listed are Albert Larkin Johnson B. 1836 in McMinn Co., TN..M:Synthia Ann Le Wallen B. 1840..D. 1917. This would be wonderful if Joel and Elizabeth were the parents. Then there was Gracy B. 1841. Then Susanna Johnson, B. 1843 in McMinn Co. Then Elizabeth J. Johnson, B 1847, Bradley Co., TN. Then Timothy Johnson, B. 1850, McMinn Co., TN. Now Joel's Brother came from a Daniel and a Margarett Brannon. They moved to Bradley Co about 1840 where Joel and his family moved over there about 1850. They lived nest door to each other in both counties. There is a man named John Henry Johnson who still lived on the original homestead through 5 generations. He is a double cousin. He Mother came for Larkin in Joel's family and then Joel Erie in Daniel's family. Just found that out this year Joel Erie is my GGgreat grandfather. He and his wife Esabelle Caroline Triplett Johnson were his parents and the only ones to move over to McMinn Co. And their oldest child a son named Thomas Bruner Johnson ..he and his wife Dove Victoria Payne who died with four little boys under the age of eight. So Joel and Belle moved over to McMinn Co. And raised those four boys. Just had a feeling that Joel Sr. And Daniel Sr. Had more children. Daniel who was a brother to Joel Sr...he and his wife had five sons: Margaret Brunner the mother: 1. James E. Johnson, B 1841, Bradley Co., TN.. 2. John V. Johnson B. 1843 in Bradley Co.--Married a Sarah Varnell 3.Joel Erie Johnson B. 1847 in Bradley Co. D.McMinn Co...Mar. Esabell Varnell 4.Hugh Johnson, B. 1847 in Bradley, Co., TN 5.Daniel Johnson, B, 1852 Bradley Co., TN..M: Martha Goins This would be wonderful if they were related and that they had more brothers or sisters --the whole Bradley Co and McMinn Co. Is full of Johnson s. They have a family reunion every August. This John who was a Professor and lives on the original land ...we are trying to find out who were the parents for sure of Joel Sr. He could have be a grandparent and the one of his sons could have been the father. We do know that a lot of the Johnson on this list married a lot of the Varnell sisters. I have Joel Erie Johnson back to my self but as for the rest I know that a lot of the Johnson's are buried at Chilcutt Cemetery in Cleveland. There used to be a church but it burned down but you can see a few of the names on the headstones. So that you so much for writing and I am counting on you to figure this mystery out -------Original Message------- From: Jane McEndree Date: 10/17/2006 2:00:29 AM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [JOHNSON] Hannah Johnson My GGGG Grandfather, Joel Johnson was born abt. 1790 in North Carolina, I think He was married to someone named Elizabeth at least at the time of his death. I have a copy of his will. His children are listed as John N. Johnson who I think was born about 1817 in North Carolina and then Asa Johnson and then Joseph Johnson born abt. 1820 in Martin Co., North Carolina. He married Martha Bryant. They were my GGG Grandparents. They wound up in Texas in Milam County. The next child of Joel Johnson was Arty M.E. Johnson, a female born about 1819 in N.C. and then Mary A. Johnson born abt. 1831 in N.C. and then Izeriah Johnson, Martha Johnson, Henry Johnson, Lawrence Johnson and then Maniza Johnson. My GGG Grandparents, Joseph and Martha Johnson had nine children. Some of the names of their children are similar to some you have mentioned and knowing how families named their children after relatives, it makes me wonder if perhaps they could be in the same family as yours. Joseph Johnson children were: 1. Benjamin R. Johnson born in 1842 in Martin Co, N.C. 2. Redden Hezekiah Johnson born Aug. 26, 1845 in Martin co, N.C. and he was my GG Grandfather. 3. Eveline Johnson born abt. 1846 or so. 4. Archibald Johnson born abt. 1847-48 in Martin Co, N.C.married Mary Jane Fortenberry Mann. 5. Martha Elizabeth Johnson born July 11, 1849 in Martin Co, N.C. married Louis Bailey Tippet. 6. Mary Ann Johnson born abt. 1851 in N.C. 7. McGlibrie [Mac] Carl Johnson born Jan. 25, 1853 in Martin Co, N.C. married Mittie Clarenda Hurt 8. Georgia Cassanna Johnson born abt. 1858 in N.C. and married William H. Springer. 9. Asa Myers Johnson born March 7, 1866 in Texas. Married Liza Jane Bomon and then Mina Little. Do this family sound like they could be related to yours?
