I have seen a transcription of the will of Smith JOHNSON d bef Jan 1896 m Margaret WINN in which heirs were named as: Sons: Minor Winn Smith JOHNSON John JOHNSON Daughter: Sally Chaney & apparently deceased unnamed daughter who had married a TRAYLOR Grand-daughters: Elizabeth W. TRAYLOR Sally W. Powell & Margaret JOHNSON Grandson: Smith JOHNSON I have also seen postings of a son named Moses who does not seem to be shown in the will of Smith JOHNSON. Does anyone have any sources for Moses as Smith's son? I am trying to determine the father of my line, Bailey JOHNSON b 1792 VA d 1868 Upshur County, TX m Malinda TRAYLOR 1815 Jasper County, GA. The family also lived in Oglethorpe and Troup County, GA prior to going to TX. Bailey & Malinda JOHNSON had a daughter named Martha Winn JOHNSON, so I think Bailey was likely a grandson of Smith JOHNSON, but I can find no further information on the sons. Was Minor Winn Smith JOHNSON one & the same person as Minor Winn Smith JOHNSON as the one who died in Smith County, MS ca 1830? Does anyone have further information on sons, John or possible son, Moses? Any help on this family would be greatly appreciated. J Williams
