    1. [JOHNSON] James Johnson
    2. I hope you guys can help me. I got all my original documentation together to prove DAR using James Johnson who was born in Virginia in 1753 (I have proved the relationship), first married an Elizabeth who died, along with 1st child, and was buried in Virginia. He moved after rev war to SC, then Georgia and was married to Martha Summerlin Colsin, who died in 1806. Their children are Thomas Jefferson Johnson, Barbara Johnson, who married Richard H. Thomas, and Evaline who married Josiah Everitt. James (died 1833) is buried at Pebble Hill Plantation in Thomasville, Georgia. The book, 'Pebble Hill, the Story of a Plantation" by William Warren Rogers states that James was a Captain of a Lunenburg Co., Virginia regiment. I specifically asked NARA for his records using those parameters and was sent the Rev. War service records. When I sent all my paperwork in to DAR, they replied that I had the wrong James Johnson. Can anyone help me identify the correct James Johnson? Mary Kate Kaufman Texas
