Taken about 1865-66 in Bradley Co., TN. The father is Daniel Johnson and is from NC and he had a brother named Joel that was born about 1814..Daniel was born about 1818. His wife is Margaret J Brannon in this picture. Here is a list of their children's names in the picture. All their children were born in Bradley Co., TN but the family or their parents settled in McMinn Co., TN first from NC and lived there about 15 years or so then the land grants opened up in Bradley Co., TN. So they moved over there. Daniel's brother Joel and his wife Elizabeth ? Had all their children in McMinn Co., TN. Then moved over to Bradley Co. About in the 1850's. Daniel and his wife moved over there in 1840's and started their family. LEFT TO RIGHT 1. Daniel Johnson Jr. Born in 1852-married a Clementine Varnell 2.Hugh Johnson-born on Aug10, 1848--died in Jan.17,1900--married a Martha C. Goins 3. Joel Erie Johnson-born in 1847--died in 1915--married a Isabelle Caroline Triplett in 1867-moved to McMinn Co., TN and lived there. 4.John Y. Johnson-born-Oct. 17, 1843 and died on Mar.25, 1888.--married a Sarah C. Varnell 5. Daniel Johnson (Father) born about 1818 in NC. Do not know where in NC???? 6. Margaret J. Brannon (Mother) born in 1812 in TN and were married about 1839-40 in McMinn Co. 7. Elizabeth Johnson born in 1856 and died on March 11,1907 8. James Johnson- born Nov. 25, 1841 and died on Jan 7, 1910-married a Elizabeth Varnell So three of these handsome brothers married sisters from Isaac Varnell B:1820 and wife Prudence Pinor B: 1816 All these family members or most of them were buried in Chilcutt Church Cemetery in Bradley Co., TN. Joel Erie and his wife Isabelle were buried at Carlock Cemetery. DO HOPE SOMEONE OUT THERE CAN HELP ME TO FIND OUT WHERE IN NC THAT DANIEL AND HIS BROTHER JOEL WHO WOULD HAVE BEEN CHILDREN WHEN THEY CAME TO MCMINN CO.,TN. In some of the census reports is does list a Daniel Johnson and an older man ..it also lists a Joel Johnson as an older man. COULD THEY BE THEIR FATHER??? Thank you for hearing me out Group!!! Linda Griffin Also Maternal grandparents: Cox and Richards- Hayward and Janette Richards who had a sister named Ethyl and a brother named Jack Cox Then Jannette Richards husband was Hayward. My mother was a COX and here parents names were Jessie Cox & Lessie Richards and my mother Beulah Cox (Johnson) was born in Arkansas. I know the family lived in Oklahoma and Texas then finally settled in Gridley, CA.
