Looking the parents of Joseph A. Johnson b. 1814 in Tennessee. His wife was Dicy (possibly Payne) b. 1812 Georgia. They lived in Polk County, Tennessee most of their lives in and around Benton. During the 1850 census the family is living in Murray County Georgia. The 1880 census shows that Joseph's father was born in Virginia and mother in North Carolina. Their children were: William Riley b.1835 (my 3x great grandfather, his son, my 2x grandfather was Jacob W. Johnson) Martha Johnson b. 1836 Margaret E. b.1839 George Washington b. 1848 Thomas Jefferson b. 1850 Harriett Johnson b. 1852 Andrew Jackson b. SEPT 15, 1854 Joseph Frank b. 1856 During the 1860 census the family is back in Polk County, TN and there is a Nancy Johnson age 67, born 1793 in North Carolina living in their home. Probably Joseph's mother.
