My Johnson family is the Wiley Johnson family. Wiley was born in SC in 1824. Wiley married Arvilla Unknown. One of the children from the marriage was Emma who married my Great Grandfather, Nathaniel Scott McBride. The marriage occurred after Wiley and some of the children moved to Yell Couty, Arkansas. The family is found in the 1860 census of Gordon County, GA. Arvilla died sometime in the 1850s. I have not found Wiley and Arvilla in the 1850 census for SC. The ages and birthplaces of the children listed on the 1860 GA census would indicate the family would have been in SC in 1850 I cannot find a marriage for Wiley and Arvilla, Civil War records for a Wiley Johnson from Gordon County, GA. or any other of the many things I have tried to check.
