My Johnson family came over in the 1850s to Muscatine, IA. James Johnson was born in Totnes, Devon, Eng from 1841 census. He married Jane Stradling from Wellington, Somerset, Eng 1851 census married with one child in Totnes. Theny had 5 children one was my ggrandfather Thomas Gilmore Johnson he had one son George and 2 daughters Lola and my grandmother Grace Frances Johnson who married Charles Fay Whiffen. He also had a brother William that had some male descendants not at my desk to give names. Will get them if anyone had any from the Muscatine, IA area. Carol
