David Johns(t)on born 1788 in Georgia (Wilkinson County) died 1852 in Plaquemines Parish, Louisiana. David was a riverboat pilot in the Mississippi River. He owned land and slaves in the mid 1830s onward in Plaquemines Parish, Louisiana. David married Hanna (Johanne) Frederika Hoffmann in 1840 in either New Orleans or Plaquemines Parish, Louisiana. There is no marriage record for them. They had one son named Alexander Henry Johns(t)on born 21 November 1841 in Plaquemines Parish died 18 June 1869 in New Orleans, LA. Alexander Henry Johns(t)on married Magdlena Keissel born 1843 in Louisiana d. 12 September 1898 in New Orleans, LA. They married July 1863. They had 3 children: Walter Jarvis b. 1863 d. 1866; Hanna Caroline b. 1865 d. 1928; and David McCoy Johnston b. 23 July 1867 d, 12 September 1919 in New Orleans, LA. David married Mary Hörner in April 1887. They had 5 sons: Alexander, Edward, David, Herbert, and Milton. Alexander Henry Johnston born Jan. 1888 d. Oct 1944. He married Josephine Lavine Doclar b. 1892 d. 1936 in New Orleans, LA. They married in June 1911. They had 4 children: Lavine, Alexander, Edward, and Mary. Other surnames mixed with my family are: Hörner, Zweifel, Huckins, Hoffmann, Keissel, Clovak, Usner, McDermott, Elwell.
