Those aliens really get around, they left James Penrose Johnson in the Lancaster- Newcastle area of PA about 1790-1815? He turned up in Naperville, IL in early 1840's. James married Cordelia Murray Dec 1843. He was said to be nearly twice as old as her. She died in 1845 after the birth of their son , Byron Johnson, at the age of 21. James Penrose Johnson was a wheelwright by trade and had bulit the home his in- laws, the John Murrays lived in. After the death of Cordelia, James left his son, Byron, and went to the CA goldfields where he died. That was in 1850. Byron was raised by his grandparents and married Mary Skittery Lander and went to IA. She died in 1876 and Byron married Paulina Sabra Ross. I am descended from Byron and Paulina. I know the story form Byron's birth on but have no clue to any of James Penrose Johnson's life before Naperville or his parents, siblings, ancestry...all a blank canvas for many years. I think there should be a Penrose Johnson connection and there were a lot of Quakers in the area but unfortunately all the meeting records i have found have not helped. I know he couldn't have just shown up grown and ready to marry, some where he has to have a family. Thanks for any help. Jackie Doeden
