I am searching for antecedents for James Johnson 1825, born in Kentucky, moved at a young age with his parents to Indiana. His parents are reported to have been born in Virginia. From Indiana, James moved to Jones Co., Iowa, then Linn Co., Iowa, where he married Sylvia Bliss and moved to Guthrie Co., which continued to be his residence, reportedly until his death, though he died in Clay Co., S. Dakota. They had nine sons: Samuel Ward, Perry Lee, Thomas Jefferson, James Clinton, Orren Olin, George Everette, Oliver Ervin, Jay Bliss, and Charley Edwin. Daughters were Sarah S., Mary Elizabeth, and Sylvia Rosalia. According to old notes written by James' granddaughter, he had brothers John (Jack) and Lee, and a sister Elizabeth. Thank you.
