    3. 1785 March 28 THE COMMONWEALTH of Virginia to Thomas Eaton, William Johnson, Philip Hawkins, Young McLemore & Edward Jones Gentlemen of Warren County North Carolina greeting KNOW ye that we trusting to your fidelity & provident circumspection in deligently (sic) examining William Wildin & Anthoney Daughton witnesses to an Indenture of bargain and Sale from Luke Williams of Richmond to Thomas Williams of Brunswick County in Virginia relative to the proof of the said Deed . . . Command you that at such destain Day & place as you shall appoint you agreeable yourselves and the witnesses aforesaid before you, you call and cause to come, and deligently (sic) to examine on the holy Evangelists of Almighty God relative to the premises, and their examinations into our Court of our said County of Brunswick send & certify inclosed sending also to us this Writ witness Drury Stith Clerk of our said Court the 20th Day of July 1785. North Carolina Warren County, By Virtue of the within Writ came before us William Wildin & Anthoney Daughton & made oath on the Holy Evangelists that they saw Luke Williams execute the annexed Deed unto Thomas Williams, sworn before us the 26th July 1785. Signed by William Johnson, Young McLemore, and Edward Jones. Brunswick County Court 28th March 1785. This Indenture was proved by the oath of Roger Williams a witness thereto and on the motion of Thomas Williams one of the parties a Commission is awarded him to examine and take the Depositions of William Wildin & Anthoney Dougton the other two subscribing Witnesses, relating to the proof thereof they being inhabitants of North Carolina directed to Thomas Eaton, William Johnson, Philip Hawkins, Young McLemore & Edward Jones Gentlemen Justices of Warren County in the said State of North Carolina or any two of them, And at a Court held for the said County the 22d of August following the said Depositions were returned & containing full and satisfactory proof of the execution of the said Deed, the said Indenture, together with the Commission & Depositions are admitted to Record. So is the Hawkins families Notes: 1773 Jan 11: Mecklenburg Co, VA Deed Book 3:"Jan 11, 1773 from Josiah DANIEL of Albemarle County, and Elizabeth, his wife, to Thomas REVES (RIVERS) of M, for 230 L, a certain tract of land in M on both sides of Nutbush Cr, bounded by Thomas CARTER, Miles JOHNSON, the County line between North Carolina and VA, James SHEDD. The said (sic)400 acres was patented to John ROBINSON in 1750, and conveyed by John ROBINSON to the said Josiah DANIEL by Lunenburg County deed. Signed - Josiah DANIEL, Elizabeth (+ her mark) DANIEL.
