Thank You Tony! and to ... Gerald J. Thank You for your great explanation on the spelling of names, etc. I am searching for "Almarinda" Susan Johnson, b. 1830, North Carolina. She is the wife of John W. Cox. I have their family Bible, and in it she writes, her full name and birth date ..... that is all. "Almarinda" is constantly miss-spelled by census takers, etc., and finally in her Mortality Report from Kansas, she is reported as A. "L." Cox. The "S" was written to look like an "L", back in the early days. So, the miss-spelling of names, really make it hard to find in our Genealogy. So far I have not found her Johnson family at all.
