I am trying to locate the parents of John Wesley JOHNSON. He married Missouri Ann SMITH in Macoupin Co IL on 1/03/1850. I know nothing about him prior to their marriage - have info for some of his children. He died during the period of the civil war but can't find out if his death was war connected or not. He is a total brick wall for me. Census records indicate that he was born in IL. He is my ggg grandfather. I searched each of Tony's messages to check each IL Johnson - looking for him as a child of one of the Rev War pensioners - some day I may get a lead but until then every bit of info helps. By the way, every message sent on this thread - the positive and negative are "forever" on rootsweb for anyone in the future to read - these messages are not deleted. As a list manager on a couple of other surname lists, I find this rather sad. Please do not respond to this message unless you can help me locate my brick wall on John Wesley JOHNSON.
