Samuel Monroe Johnson was the son of Jesse Johnson who was born in Virginia in 1798. Jesse had two known brothers: Hosier (B.1810) in Maryland and Peter (Born 1811) Ohio. Jesse, Hosier, and Peter Johnson were farmers who eventually settled in Bartholomew County Indiana and are all buried in the Kansas Methodist Church Cemetery in Bartholmew County - which is now part of Camp Atterbury, a military base established in 1942. I have visited the cemetery and have photos of the tombstones of these 3 men and can share if you'd like. I am searching for the parents of these 3 men and would be greatful for any assistance in this matter! > From: JoMertz@aol.com> Date: Tue, 16 Oct 2007 12:22:50 -0400> To: johnson@rootsweb.com> Subject: [JOHNSON] Question---Johnson's from VA to Ohio ???> > My brick wall is a unknown JOHNSON family moved from an unknown city in VA > supposedly due to slavery disputes and had a son Samuel Monroe JOHNSON born in > an unknown city in Ohio January 21, 1820.
