There is a John Johnson in the 1840 Fed Cen Ill. Macoupin Co. , Carlinville. He has several sons. If you made that birthdate 1817, he has a son that would qualify. There are several Johnsons, Isaac Johnson in the 1850 Fed Cen Macoupin Co. has a son John w. Johnson. There is a death date 17 Jan 1902 for Missouri A Johnson in the Macoupin Ill. Death Index- IllGenWeb. Do you have access to the 1840,1850, 1960 Fed Cen for the Co. If not I can give you the names of the Johnsons that appeared on them. It would appear that they may be a family goup. There are also possibles in the adjoining co of Madison. I do not think that I am in this line. Thanks Joyce. I already have the 1840, 50, 60 census. Just haven't been able to connect the dots. I have someone who will copy some probate records for me when I can get the info sent to the courthouse in Macoupin Co that may provide more info (sure hope so). Isaac could be a brother (his son John W died in 1862 at a young age). My John W and Missouri Ann were in their own household in the 1850 census. Missouri was living with her son Joseph and his wife in Madison Co in 1900. The area that the family lived in Macoupin Co was just across the county line from Madison. My great grandfather's brother was a doctor in Granite City at the time of her death. He died there in 1945 and my great grandfather also died there in 1956. Missouri helped raise both boys as both their parents died young. Also researching related lines in same area - SMITH, DRURY AND REDMAN Thanks again - Judy At 08:28 PM 10/6/2007, you wrote: >There is a John Johnson in the 1840 Fed Cen Ill. >Macoupin Co. , Carlinville.
