Janie, Here is a link to what I have about my John Johnson. I had hoped that he might be the brother of Jesse and Levi, but you may be right, it may have been their brother who was hanged in the 1770s. I've got the record of that...somewhere. http://worldconnect.genealogy.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=9809 &id=I00924 I really suppose I need to do a DNA test and see if I match with any other Johnsons. I had always hoped to figure everything out first and then prove it with a DNA test. Jeremiah Johnson, son of John, married Nancy Forrest in 1800, Orange Co., NC. That's what lead me to look in Orange County and then Chatham, which, if memory serves me correct, was formed from Orange. Also, there was a John Johnson who married Lydia Hutchens in 1770. I think they lived in Surry Co., NC. Does anyone have a listing of their children? Jeremy
