Even when I find a David Johnson, I have to check era, spouse, and children to even see if this one is close. Yes its tedious and its slow and its work. Its far easier to search for Brudtkuhl, but there are 20 million fewer to search through. Gerald J. >

    3. Hey Gerald, I'm also looking for information on a David Johnson. My guy was born about 1812 in NC, married Mary Ann Macon in Macon County, Alabama. The family was in Vaugine Township, Jefferson County, Pine Bluff Post office, Arkansas, when the 1870 census was taken. Then, they took off for the wilds of Texas. Mary Ann made it, David didn't. At least, she showed up in 1880 in McCulloch County, Texas, and he was nowhere to be found. I know who is descended from David and Mary Ann. Don't know who he descended from. Don't suppose my David is also your David??? Carlette > Because there ARE and WERE so many of us JOHNSONs searching is always > slow. It would have been nice had all our kin used two middle names, then maybe they would have had more unique names. However during their lifetime, they though one given name was often enough. Now there was a Scottish king named David that beat the British a time or two so David is a popular given name. There was that old testament David but staunch church goers kind think of him with less admiration. Gerald J.
