There is one way that you may find out for sure: You can have a DNA test done in the Johnson Surname Project by: 1) Going to this site https://www.familytreedna.com/surname_join.aspx?code=X15311&special=True<about:blank> 2) Just simply fill out all the information and submit it to Family Tree DNA. 3) They will then send you a kit in the mail for your testing. To see what this consists of you can view a website, of how to use your kit, at the following address: http://davedorsey.com/dna.html<about:blank> 4) MAKE SURE TO SIGN YOUR RELEASE MAILED TO YOU IN YOUR KIT BEFORE MAILING IT BACK. 5) Go to the following page and turn in what you have DOCUMENTED of your pedigree, and submit. 6) Family Tree will have your results posted in 4-6 weeks on average, depending on how thorough of a test you have ran. 7) When your results are in, you will be notified of your matches, if any. We will take your pedigree and post them on the page with your matches, if any. If you have a common ancestor with one of your matches, we will link your pedigrees together at that person. If you don't have any matches, we will post your pedigree on your own page, and as matches come in the future, add them to your page. FTDNA will give you your own personal pages which will have your matches, and other information that you may be interested in. They will also notify you of any matches that you have in the future! If you wish to view any of the other pedigrees, I warn you that we have over 425 members now. But if you wish to, you can go to this site http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~hjohnson/index.html<about:blank> and choose 1 of the 5 members pages and click on their kit numbers.
