Missouri by 1812 having lived in Christian Co KY during the period 1806 to 1810 and maybe in Logan Co KY before that. Some of the children of David and Margaret show being born in NC, some in SC, one shows both in different census and some died before that question was on the census form. We have found Davids and Margarets near each other in Virginia in the right time period but we have no paper trail connecting them to those we know about. Its logical for Johnsons in Virginia in colonial times to have moved to the Carolinas and then to Kentucky on their way to Missouri so we are SURE interested in Virginia Johnsons. Others of my ancestors in Missouri there even before the Johnsons landed in Pennsylvania, then moved to North Carolina before moving to Missouri. Others that arrived in Missouri later (1856 or so) followed that same path. All we can say is that there were roads from Pennsylvania to Virginia and to the Carolinas in colonial times and as the west (just over the Appalachians and further west) opened the early traffic on those roads turned west. So searching in Virginia is logical, but ours were in Missouri too early to have a known connection to Mary Ann but we don't know enough to be able to say she's not kin through other kin that didn't move west as fast.
